Netflix‘s popular series ‘Wednesday‘ has officially kicked off production in Ireland for its highly anticipated Season 2. The show’s cast for the new season was recently unveiled, featuring a mix of familiar faces and new additions.

Jenna Ortega will be back in the spotlight as the lead character Wednesday Addams, while Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, Isaac Ordonez, and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo are set to join as series regulars. Zeta-Jones takes on the role of Morticia, with Guzmán portraying Gomez and Ordonez tackling the character of Pugsley. Returning cast members include Emma Myers, Joy Sunday, Hunter Doohan, Victor Dorobantu, Moosa Mostafa, and Georgie Farmer, along with guest roles for Fred Armisen and Jamie McShane.

Notably missing from the cast announcement is Percy Hynes White, who previously starred as Xavier Thorpe in the show’s first season. The actor faced allegations of sexual assault in 2023 and has since been exempted from Season 2 of ‘Wednesday.’

The new season introduces additional series regulars Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor. Furthermore, Netflix has confirmed that Steve Buscemi will feature as a new series regular, with Thandiwe Newton taking on a guest star role – details that were exclusively reported earlier.

The star-studded guest lineup for the upcoming season includes Christopher Lloyd, Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo. Fans might recall Lloyd’s iconic role as Uncle Fester from the ‘Addams Family’ films, a character also played by Fred Armisen in the show’s debut season. Additionally, Steve Buscemi’s ‘Addams Family’ co-star Christina Ricci made an appearance in the first season as Marilyn Thornhill.

The creators and showrunners of ‘Wednesday,’ Al Gough and Miles Millar, expressed their excitement for the new season, noting the ensemble of seasoned actors and fresh faces joining the cast for Season 2. The series, known for its reimagining of the classic ‘Addams Family’ characters, has experienced immense success since its premiere in 2022.

‘Wednesday’ Season 2 faced delays due to industry strikes in 2023 but is now back on track with a stellar lineup of talent behind and in front of the camera. The show’s executive producers, including Tim Burton, ensure that the dark and intriguing world of Wednesday Addams continues to captivate audiences worldwide. Stay tuned for more updates as the series progresses towards its highly anticipated return.
