Los Angeles, CA — Hilary Duff is set to release her first album in a decade, and a countdown on her official website suggests the announcement may come sooner than fans expect.
In September, it was reported that Duff signed with Atlantic Records and is developing a docuseries focused on her personal life and musical journey. She recently told Variety that she has been working hard in the studio and promised fans new music “so soon, like in the blink of an eye.”
As of November 2, Duff’s website featured a countdown clock ending at 1 p.m. Eastern Time on November 3. No additional details have been provided, and neither Duff nor Atlantic Records has commented on the upcoming projects.
On social media, excitement among fans is palpable. Postings on platforms like Twitter show users speculating about the new music, with a popular account, @PopCrave, receiving over 8,000 likes on its countdown post. Commenters expressed their joy, anticipating Duff’s return to pop music, referencing her classic album Metamorphosis, released in 2003.
Duff gained fame in the early 2000s with her role in the Disney Channel series Lizzie McGuire, which remains beloved by those who grew up with it. The series has influenced artists today, and even pop star Sabrina Carpenter paid homage to Duff’s style in a recent Halloween costume.
Her continued cultural presence is evident on TikTok, where her hit single Come Clean recently gained attention in a viral challenge. The song What Dreams Are Made Of is often played during joyful moments in TikTok videos.
In 2019, a reboot of Lizzie McGuire was announced but ultimately scrapped due to creative differences with Disney+. As for her new music, details remain sparse, with past albums showcasing a mix of pop-rock and dance influences.
Duff’s forthcoming docuseries will be produced by Sam Wrench, who is also working on the Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour movie. Since her last album, Breathe In. Breathe Out., released in 2015, Duff starred in the sitcom How I Met Your Father. She is also a mother to three daughters, with her husband Matthew Koma joining her in the studio for her new project.
