New Batman Animated Series Announced for 2026 Release

New York, NY — A new animated adventure featuring the Dark Knight was announced at New York Comic Con on October 10, 2025. The event will span multiple chapters, with the first installment set to debut in 2026 on digital and home entertainment platforms.

During the panel titled ‘The Art Knight: Batman in Animation’, studio officials revealed that the upcoming saga will be titled ‘Batman: Knightfall Part 1: Knightfall.’ This series will push Batman to his limits as Bane frees the Caped Crusader’s entire Rogues Gallery from Arkham Asylum.

The animated series is based on the iconic comic story arc “Batman: Knightfall,” created by a team of renowned writers including Doug Moench, Chuck Dixon, and Jim Aparo. The narrative is celebrated as one of the most beloved in Batman’s long history.

Jeff Wamester is set to direct the animation, with Jeremy Adams writing the script. Rick Morales will serve as supervising producer, alongside producers Jim Krieg and Kimberly S. Moreau. The project will also have Sam Register and Michael Uslan as executive producers.

Fans of the franchise can look forward to the release of this ambitious animated event, promising to deliver the classic Batman storytelling that has captured audiences for decades.
