Nicole Kidman Pauses Filming of ‘Babygirl’ Due to Intense Scenes and Personal Loss
Nicole Kidman, the acclaimed actress known for her versatile and intense performances, has recently faced a challenging period during the filming of her upcoming movie, ‘Babygirl‘. The film, directed and written by Halina Reijn, features Kidman as a high-powered CEO who embarks on a torrid affair with her much younger intern, played by Harris Dickinson.
Kidman, 57, had to pause filming due to the intense and emotionally demanding scenes in the movie. This pause was compounded by a personal tragedy when she learned of her mother’s passing. Janelle Ann Kidman‘s death occurred just before Kidman was set to accept the best actress award at the Venice Film Festival for her performance in ‘Babygirl’.
The actress was deeply affected by her mother’s death and had to leave the Venice Film Festival to be with her family. Despite her absence, Kidman’s statement was read aloud by director Halina Reijn, expressing her gratitude and the profound impact her mother had on her life and career. Kidman also missed the Toronto International Film Festival premiere of ‘Babygirl’ due to her ongoing mourning.
‘Babygirl’, which also stars Antonio Banderas as Kidman’s character’s husband, is set to release in theaters on December 25. The film promises to be a dramatic and emotionally charged portrayal of a complex relationship, reflecting Kidman’s commitment to her craft despite personal challenges.
