Maxx Crosby Injury News

Las Vegas, NV — The Las Vegas Raiders are facing significant injury concerns as they prepare for their Week 5 matchup against the Indianapolis Colts. Defensive end Maxx Crosby and tight end Brock Bowers are both dealing with knee injuries that could affect their performance on Sunday.

Crosby was a full participant in practice on Wednesday but was listed as limited on Thursday. His sudden downgrade raises questions about his readiness to contribute against the Colts. The Pro Bowler’s ability to play is crucial for the Raiders, who are looking to break a three-game losing streak.

Bowers, meanwhile, has been struggling with a knee issue since the season opener against the New England Patriots. After being limited during Wednesday’s practice, he was downgraded to a non-participant on Thursday. This development suggests he may have suffered a setback in his recovery. Bowers has yet to miss a game this season, but his performance has waned noticeably over the last few weeks.

Head coach Pete Carroll acknowledged the ongoing efforts to integrate Bowers into the offense. “We’re still trying to get the ball to him and use him for all his great skills,” Carroll said on Wednesday. “But we would love for him to get the ball more.” With Bowers sidelined, the Raiders may turn to tight ends Ian Thomas, Michael Mayer, or undrafted rookie Carter Runyon for additional support.

Additionally, linebacker Brennan Jackson and wide receiver Justin Shorter are also listed on the injury report. Jackson did not participate in practice Thursday, while Shorter returned to limited work after missing Wednesday’s session due to illness. Cornerback Eric Stokes was also limited on Thursday after sustaining a knee injury against the Chicago Bears.

The Raiders will need to address these injuries quickly, as they are set to face a strong Colts defense this weekend. If their two star players cannot play, their chances of winning may be severely impacted.
