Schnucks Grocery Store Closing Janesville Wisconsin

JANESVILLE, Wis. — Schnucks will close its grocery store on Creston Park Drive in Janesville effective at 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 21. The St. Louis, Missouri-based grocery chain announced the impending closure in a press release on Friday.

The Janesville store has served the community since opening as Logli in May 2002. It was rebranded to Schnucks in 2013. In his statement, Schnucks Chairman and CEO Todd Schnuck recognized the dedication of the Janesville staff and expressed gratitude to customers for their years of support. “We salute our teammates’ valiant efforts while serving the Janesville community and thank our loyal customers for their more than two decades of patronage,” he said.

There are currently 57 employees at the Janesville location. Schnucks stated that those workers will have the option to transfer to the company’s stores in the Rockford, Illinois area, or take severance packages. The company has committed to helping those who choose to transfer to secure comparable roles with similar pay and hours at Rockford stores.

Other Schnucks locations include four stores in Rockford, one in Loves Park, and one in Roscoe. The closure of the Janesville store marks the end of Schnucks operations in Wisconsin, as it has been the company’s only store in the state.

Customers can continue to earn and redeem Schnucks Rewards points at the Janesville location until its closure. After that date, rewards points can be used at any other Schnucks store.
