Snl Donald Trump Cabinet Picks Sketch

Saturday Night Live (SNL) took a sharp jab at Donald Trump’s contentious cabinet selections in their latest Cold Open sketch, which aired on Saturday night. The sketch began by parodying a transition meeting between Trump, played by James Austin Johnson, and President Joe Biden, portrayed by Dana Carvey.

The skit focused on Trump’s unconventional and controversial choices for his cabinet. Johnson, as Trump, boasted about his picks, saying, “It’s all about surrounding yourself with the best people. And I am very vastly picking the most epic cabinet of all time. They’re some of the most dynamic, free-thinking, animal-killing, sexually-criminal, medically-crazy people in the country.”

One of the first cabinet members to appear was Matt Gaetz, played by Sarah Sherman. Gaetz, Trump’s nominee for attorney general, has been under scrutiny due to an ongoing investigation by the House Ethics Committee into allegations of sexual misconduct and illicit drug use. Sherman’s character humorously mentioned, “Of course, I had to resign from Congress because the confirmation process comes at the busiest time of year for me…girls volleyball season.”

Another notable figure in the sketch was Robert F. Kennedy Jr., played by Alec Baldwin, who Trump has selected to lead Health and Human Services. Baldwin’s portrayal highlighted Kennedy’s vaccine skepticism and his bizarre personal anecdotes, including contracting a tapeworm from food in South Asia and dumping a dead bear cub in Central Park.

The sketch concluded with a humorous remark from Carvey’s Biden, referencing his post-White-House plans and joking about fighting Jake Paul, a popular social media personality.
