LOS ANGELES, CA — Two-time Oscar nominee Ansel Elgort is in talks to star alongside Thomasin McKenzie in the upcoming feature film about the deep friendship between Audrey Hepburn and designer Count Hubert de Givenchy. Directed by Abe Sylvia, the film will explore their 40-year collaboration, which began with a pivotal dinner in Paris.
Written by Kara Holden, the script highlights the influence Givenchy had on Hepburn’s wardrobe in iconic films like ‘Breakfast at Tiffany’s,’ ‘Funny Face,’ and ‘Roman Holiday,’ where Hepburn won the Best Actress Oscar in 1954 wearing Givenchy.
The movie is being produced by Ashok Armitraj and Priya Amritraj through Hyde Park Entertainment, along with Andrew Lazar of Mad Chance Productions. Holden will serve as executive producer, with Wayfarer co-financing the project. Carl Clifton from Hyde Park will present the film to distributors at the American Film Market.
Sylvia is known for his Emmy-winning work on ‘Palm Royale‘ and has garnered acclaim for his screenplay of ‘The Eyes of Tammy Faye,’ which won Jessica Chastain an Academy Award. He is represented by CAA and The Gartner Group.
McKenzie will be seen next in Searchlight’s ‘The Testament of Ann Lee’ and has worked in films such as ‘Jojo Rabbit’ and ‘The Power of the Dog.’ Elgort gained fame in projects like ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Baby Driver’ and is set to appear in the stage production of ‘Quadrophenia.’
