Allen Lazard New York Jets Game Practice

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. — New York Jets wide receiver Allen Lazard expressed disappointment after being a healthy inactive for the team’s game at MetLife Stadium last Sunday. Lazard, who was listed as a starter on the depth chart, felt he could have made a difference in the outcome.

“Obviously, I would’ve loved to be out there. Just the competitor in me thinks that me being out there can make the difference, no matter what phase or play it would’ve been,” Lazard told The Post after practice on Friday. He acknowledged the team’s effort but expressed regret over his absence.

Despite the setback, Lazard remains optimistic about the team’s future, stating, “We played a great game, all three phases. Just came up short. It is what it is, Week 1, but I’m just looking to come to work every single week.” His determination reflects the overall mindset of the Jets as they prepare for their upcoming game against the Buffalo Bills.

The Jets are dealing with other injury concerns as well. Defensive back Gardner is limited but expected to play, while fellow receiver Garrett Wilson is stepping up, finding opportunities within the Jet’s evolving game plan.

The game against the Bills is already shaping up to be a crucial moment for the Jets, with Lazard eager to contribute if given the chance. “I’m itching to reverse my dramatic Jets tumble,” he added, highlighting his readiness to compete.
