Cold Front Florida Weather December 2025

ORLANDO, Fla. — A cold front is expected to arrive in Florida on Tuesday, significantly dropping temperatures across Central Florida into the 30s and 40s. This change in weather will bring a Freeze Watch for several north-central counties, including Alachua, Lake, Marion, Sumter, and Volusia.

The Freeze Watch indicates a potential for freezing temperatures impacting areas such as Gainesville, Ocala, and Daytona Beach within the next 24 to 36 hours, according to the National Weather Service. The service warns that frost conditions could harm unprotected crops and outdoor plumbing.

The coldest temperatures are anticipated on Tuesday night and throughout Wednesday and Thursday, with lows expected to dip into the upper 30s in Orlando while areas like Marion County could see temperatures in the low 30s.

Winds may cause the temperatures to feel even colder, potentially registering in the upper 20s in places like Ocala. Orlando will experience high temperatures in the low 60s on New Year’s Eve after morning lows dip to about 41 degrees.

Although significant cold will consume the area, meteorologists note that these temperatures will not break any records. The cold snap is expected to linger before temperatures begin to rise again, reaching the upper 70s by the weekend.

The FOX 35 Storm Team and the National Weather Service will continue to monitor the situation closely as temperatures are set to drop this week. Residents are advised to prepare for the chilly conditions and to check on pets and neighbors.
