The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Lekan Balogun, also known as Alli Okunmade II, has passed away at the age of 81, marking the end of an era for the ancient city.

Oba Balogun ascended the throne on March 11, 2022, and his reign lasted for two years, during which he made significant contributions to the history and heritage of Ibadanland.

Confirming the monarch’s death, his Chief Press Secretary, Sulaimon Olanrewaju, expressed that Oba Dr. Balogun’s demise has left a profound void in the rich legacy of Ibadan.
