WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest senior guard Hunter Sallis has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday. This marks the second time Sallis has received the honor in his collegiate career, following his first recognition on Feb. 26, 2024.

Sallis led the Demon Deacons to two ACC victories last week, averaging 27.0 points and 5.5 rebounds while shooting an impressive 64.7% from the field and 50% from three-point range. His standout performances included a 30-point game against Stanford, where he made 12 of 17 shots, and a 24-point, seven-rebound effort in a road win at Virginia Tech.

“Hunter has been a consistent force for us this season,” said Wake Forest head coach Steve Forbes. “His ability to score efficiently and lead the team in critical moments has been invaluable.”

Sallis has scored 20 or more points in seven consecutive games, the longest streak of his career. He has also played a pivotal role in Wake Forest’s current five-game winning streak, the program’s longest since the 2004-05 season. The Demon Deacons are off to their best ACC start since 1996-97, with a 6-1 conference record.

This season, Sallis leads Wake Forest in scoring with 19.5 points per game, while also averaging 4.2 rebounds and 2.9 assists. He ranks second in the ACC in scoring, fifth in free-throw percentage (87%), and 10th in field-goal percentage (48%).

Meanwhile, Duke freshman Cooper Flagg earned his seventh ACC Rookie of the Week honor after averaging 20.5 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 5.0 assists in two victories last week. Flagg’s standout performance included a 28-point game against Boston College, where he shot 9-of-14 from the field.

Wake Forest and Duke are set to face off Saturday at 4:30 p.m. in a highly anticipated matchup at LJVM Coliseum. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
