Late Funke Ogeah Laid to Rest in Lagos: A Tribute to a Virtuous Woman

The final rites for the late Mrs. Funke Ogeah, wife of former Delta State Information Commissioner Mr. Chike Ogeah, unfolded in Lagos with a solemn funeral service at the Trinity House Church. Mourners from various spheres of life paid their respects, reminiscing on the life of the departed who passed away on March 17, 2024.

Funke Ogeah, aged 62, was described as a virtuous woman whose absence left a profound impact on her family and community. Survived by her husband, aged mother, daughter, two sons, grandson, brother, and three sisters, Mrs. Ogeah hailed from the Ogeah Family of Ogbe-Ogo, Umuonaje Quarters in Asaba, Delta State, and the Koya Family of Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State.

At the memorial service, Femi Gbajabiamila, the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, honored Funke as a selfless individual dedicated to nurturing young boys and spreading joy wherever she went. He reflected on their friendship of over 35 years, underlining her impact on those around her.

Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun also paid tribute to Funke Ogeah, highlighting her boisterous spirit, dedication, and love for children. Her son Uche, representing the Class of ’77 from Regan Memorial Baptist Girls’ Secondary School, praised his mother’s resilience and unwavering support.

Some special dignitaries who graced the occasion included family friends, well-wishers, and government officials, all gathered to commemorate the life of a remarkable woman. The funeral service marked a moment of reflection, celebration, and farewell to a beloved individual who will be dearly missed.
