Lady Gaga Joins Cast of ‘The Devil Wears Prada 2’ in Milan

MILAN, Italy — Lady Gaga is set to make an appearance in the highly anticipated sequel to the 2006 hit film “The Devil Wears Prada.” The Oscar and Grammy-winning artist was spotted on set in Milan while currently on her Mayhem Ball Tour.
Earlier this week, Gaga wrapped up four sold-out nights at London’s O2 Arena before being seen by fans in Milan, where filming for the sequel is underway. This marks her first major acting role since “Joker: Folie à Deux” in 2024, although she recently appeared in the second season of Netflix’s “Wednesday.”
The original film, based on Lauren Weisberger’s best-selling novel, follows Andrea “Andy” Sachs, portrayed by Anne Hathaway, who takes on a challenging role working for the demanding editor Miranda Priestly, played by Meryl Streep. The sequel will explore Priestly’s struggles as she navigates the decline of traditional magazine publishing.
Production on the sequel began in June, and the core cast, including Streep, Hathaway, Emily Blunt, and Stanley Tucci, will reprise their roles. Newcomers to the franchise include Kenneth Branagh, who plays Miranda’s husband, and actress Lucy Liu, among others. Tracie Thoms and Tibor Feldman will return to their original roles.
The film aims to delve into the complex dynamics of the fashion industry amidst changing times. Specific plot details remain unconfirmed, but it has been suggested that Andy’s character may be reintegrated into the fashion world, despite her previous job at a newspaper.
Gaga’s appearance has not been officially described; it remains uncertain whether she will portray herself or an entirely new character. However, her involvement has generated significant excitement among fans and film enthusiasts alike.
As Gaga continues her tour, she is scheduled to perform next in Stockholm at the Avicii Arena on Sunday night. The release of “The Devil Wears Prada 2” is slated for May 1, 2026, nearly 20 years after the original film.
