The bi-annual MIS Global Conference has established itself as a crucial event in the field of implant dentistry, attracting a diverse group of international speakers and participants. The fifth edition of this prestigious conference was developed in collaboration with a notable scientific committee led by Professors Lior Shapira, Mariano Sanz Alonso, and Nitzan Bichacho.

Attendees had the opportunity to participate in numerous pre-conference workshops, which were quickly sold out. Of particular note was the session on “Guided Surgery for Advanced Users – Treatment Plan as the Key to Success,” conducted by Tali Chackartchi and Ignacio Sanz Sanchez.

The conference’s opening day featured a series of sessions that explored significant challenges and emerging trends in implant dentistry. These sessions included moderated discussions, adding depth to the knowledge exchange on key issues within the industry.

A notable highlight on the second day was a live surgical demonstration of a full-arch placement of six implants. Dr. Stavros Pelekanos performed this demonstration, offering attendees a rare chance to observe cutting-edge techniques in real-time. This was accompanied by sessions focusing on enhancing tissue stability and incorporating digital workflows into daily practice, underscoring the conference’s dedication to fostering clinical excellence.

Tony Susino, Group Vice President of Global Implant and Prosthetic Solutions at Dentsply Sirona, stated, “MIS’ long-standing reputation for delivering high-quality implant solutions was on display during the conference. This year’s global conference showcased our commitment to science, innovation, and reaffirmed our dedication to providing world-class peer-to-peer clinical education for the implant community.”

The conference also featured a clinical case competition, a traditional part of the MIS event. Participants submit clinical cases examined by a scientific committee that selects 23 cases to be displayed at the conference, with three winners announced. This year, Dr. Erick Ruben Mota Gonzalez from the Dominican Republic won the first prize.

Prof. Nitzan Bichacho, a member of the conference’s scientific committee, emphasized the benefit of the conference stating, “Participants in this year’s MIS Global Conference left with practical and evidence-based knowledge in implant dentistry to bring back to their own practices.” He highlighted the educational value and the professional relationships bolstered during the event.

Dentsply Sirona, the host of the MIS Global Conference, remains a leading force in the dental industry. The company’s headquarter is located in Charlotte, North Carolina, and it is listed on NASDAQ under the symbol XRAY.
