LOS ANGELES, CA — The critically acclaimed series ‘Yellowjackets‘ will conclude with its upcoming fourth season, as announced by Variety. The Showtime and Paramount+ drama, produced by Lionsgate Television, first premiered in 2021, with its third season airing from February to April 2025. The exact premiere date for Season 4 will be revealed later, but production is set to begin in 2026.

Creators and co-showrunners Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson shared their excitement in a statement, saying, ‘After three incredible seasons and great consideration, we’re excited to announce that we will be bringing the story of Yellowjackets to its twisted conclusion in this fourth and final season.’ They emphasized the importance of listening to the story when it reveals it wants to end.

The show, a combination of survival epic, psychological horror, and coming-of-age drama, follows a group of high school girls soccer players who survive a plane crash in the remote wilderness. As they grapple with their ordeal, the series also tracks their lives nearly 25 years later, revealing the lasting impact of their harrowing experience.

Season 3 featured a talented cast, including Melanie Lynskey, Christina Ricci, Lauren Ambrose, and Sophie Nélisse, alongside guest stars like Hilary Swank and Elijah Wood. The series has received 10 Emmy nominations to date, with Season 3 becoming the most-watched season and its finale marking the highest viewership in series history.

With the writers’ room now open and discussions ongoing between Lyle, Nickerson, and Paramount for future collaborations, fans can look forward to the much-anticipated final chapter of ‘Yellowjackets.’
