The Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, has officially confirmed that the Nigerian leader is currently in Europe. Onanuga further disclosed that President Tinubu, along with his aides, is scheduled to return to Nigeria tomorrow, Wednesday, 8th May.

This clarification comes in response to various concerns raised by Nigerians about President Tinubu’s recent whereabouts. Following his attendance at the World Economic Forum in Riyadh from April 28-29, Tinubu was expected to return to Nigeria but did not, sparking speculations about his location.

Sahara Reporters claimed that after departing Riyadh, President Tinubu made an unexpected trip to London, England. The news outlet reported that Tinubu departed Riyadh International Airport and landed at Stansted Airport in London, using a Gulfstream Aerospace GV-SP (G550) aircraft with registration number 5N-FGW.

Confirming Tinubu’s visit to London, a senior Nigerian Air Force officer revealed that the presidential aircraft, designated as ‘Nigerian Air Force 1’ for this trip, was utilized for the journey. This practice ensures special treatment and distinguishes the President’s plane during air travel to prioritize security and safety concerns.

While the presidency did not initially confirm or deny Tinubu’s London trip, the official confirmation from Onanuga now assures Nigerians that President Tinubu and his team will be back in Nigeria on Wednesday, putting an end to the speculation surrounding his recent travels.
