Weather Forecast: Rain Expected Across Several Regions

Close, Texas (KSAT) – The summer weather pattern continues to shift across South Texas this week. After experiencing three days of triple-digit temperatures in May, the region has enjoyed a cooler spell with temperatures remaining below 100 degrees and significant rainfall.
Today, residents can expect a 40% chance of downpours. The primary area for rainfall will be west of San Antonio, with highs reaching close to 90 degrees. A similar weather pattern is anticipated for Thursday, where cloud cover may keep temperatures below 90.
By Friday, a transition to a drier airmass is in the forecast for the Independence Day weekend. This will likely lead to minimal chances for storms, allowing for a more favorable environment for fireworks celebrations.
Meanwhile, across the Midwest, Cape Girardeau, Missouri (KFVS) is also experiencing varying weather conditions. This evening, the area may see scattered thunderstorms, particularly in Reynolds, Carter, and Ripley Counties. A flood watch has been issued as heavy rain is expected, with low temperatures in the 70s overnight.
On Sunday, Cape Girardeau will continue with partly cloudy skies and scattered storms, leading to highs in the mid-80s. A cold front will approach on Monday, increasing the likelihood of more showers and cooling temperatures slightly for the coming week.
In Madison, Wisconsin (WMTV), a First Alert Day is in effect as thunderstorms are predicted throughout the day. Particularly strong storms are expected late afternoon into the evening, posing threats of heavy rain and gusty winds. Rainfall totals could surpass one inch, risking localized flooding as rivers swell.
As the week progresses, Madison can anticipate dryness by Friday when a cold front clears the area. However, temperatures are set to soar again, with highs reaching the 90s and humidity on the rise.
In Tallahassee, Florida (WCTV), the weekend forecast includes warm temperatures and a significant chance for scattered showers and storms. Saturday’s maximum temperatures will climb to the low 90s, with afternoon storms possible. The risks from rip currents will be high along the Gulf beaches this weekend, making swimming dangerous.
As the 4th of July approaches, Tallahassee’s forecast suggests afternoon storms that will likely clear up in time for fireworks. Monitoring the tropics, a potential weather event is brewing in the Bay of Campeche, though it currently poses no immediate threat to North Florida and South Georgia.
