Ali Wong and Bill Hader End Relationship After Two Years
LOS ANGELES, CA — Comedians Ali Wong and Bill Hader have ended their relationship after more than two years together. The news was confirmed on January 7, 2026, by a source who stated that the two remain ‘very amicable’ despite their split.
The couple initially went public with their relationship in April 2023, but insiders say their busy schedules made it difficult to maintain their romance. Wong, 43, is preparing for an upcoming stand-up tour, while Hader, 47, is involved in various film and television projects.
A source told PEOPLE, ‘It was too difficult to make the relationship work with Ali’s upcoming stand-up tour and Bill’s various film and TV projects this year.’ They added that both are focusing on their work and their kids, while continuing to support each other.
Despite the breakup, the source emphasized, ‘They are very much friends and still in touch.’ The relationship had faced scrutiny in the past, especially when Wong did not walk the red carpet with Hader at the 2024 Golden Globes, where she won an award. Speculation about trouble brewed when she did not mention him in her acceptance speech.
Before going public, Hader and Wong briefly dated in late 2022. Their romance rekindled after they reconnected following Wong’s separation from her ex-husband in 2021. Wong has shared how Hader reached out to her after learning about her divorce, telling her he had a crush on her since before.
They made their red carpet debut together in February 2025, signaling the seriousness of their relationship at that time. The two attended several events and were seen together at the 2024 Golden Globes, where Wong won for her role in a Netflix special.
Reps for both actors did not immediately respond to requests for comment regarding the breakup.
