Teagan Croft Milo Manheim Tangled

LOS ANGELES, CA — Walt Disney Pictures has announced the casting of Teagan Croft and Milo Manheim for the lead roles in the live-action adaptation of its animated classic, Tangled. The film, which is based on the beloved 2010 Disney movie, will feature Croft as Rapunzel, a princess with magical hair, and Manheim as Flynn Rider, the charming thief who assists her escape from her tower.

Directed by Michael Gracey, known for his work on The Greatest Showman, the live-action movie will retain the musical elements that made the animated version a hit. Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, who wrote Do Revenge and Thor: Love and Thunder, is penning the script for the adaptation. Kristin Burr, a veteran producer at Disney, is set to produce the film.

Disney’s decision to cast Croft and Manheim comes after a thorough search process that included assessing finalists in December 2025. The two young actors step into roles originally voiced by Mandy Moore and Zachary Levi, respectively. The original Tangled was not only a box office success, grossing approximately $591 million worldwide, but it also spawned a popular Disney Channel series, contributing to its status as a modern classic.

Croft, an Australian actress, is best known for her role as Raven in the DC series Titans, which aired from 2018 to 2023. She also starred in the feature film True Spirit, which was released on Netflix in 2023. Manheim, son of actress Camryn Manheim, gained popularity through the Zombies musical franchise on Disney Channel, which blends themes of undead with catchy songs. He has also appeared in the Paramount+ series School Spirits.

The production of Tangled faced a brief pause following the disappointing box office performance of Disney’s live-action Snow White in early 2025. However, efforts resumed in Fall 2025 to bring the project to life. The role of the villainous Mother Gothel remains open, after Scarlett Johansson was initially considered for the part.

The new live-action Tangled promises to rekindle interest in the classic story of Rapunzel and Flynn as they embark on their adventure together, filled with music and discovery.
