Psg Lens Ligue 1 Match Broadcast

PARIS, France – The highly anticipated Ligue 1 match between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Lens is set for Sunday, September 17, at 5:15 p.m., airing live on beIN Sports. This change from the typical Saturday slot follows beIN Sports’ request to adjust the schedule.

This adjustment puts the PSG-Lens match against the multiplex featuring BrestParis FC, MetzAngers, and Strasbourg-Le Havre, a programming clash that marks the first instance of beIN utilizing its contractual rights to modify game times this season. According to beIN Sports, the adjustment allows a clearer broadcast for their Liga game, Real Sociedad versus Real Madrid, scheduled for Saturday at 4:15 p.m.

beIN Sports has the option to change Saturday matches up to six times during the season, allowing for three other time slots: Friday at 8:45 p.m. or Sunday at 3:00 p.m. or 5:15 p.m. This marks their first reprogramming call of the campaign. Last season, beIN had already activated similar schedule changes, notably moving matches to Sundays.

PSG’s shift to Sunday could also grant the team an extra day of rest before their Champions League opener against Atalanta Bergame on September 17 at 9:00 p.m. Some believe the rescheduling aligns with PSG’s needs, a notion beIN Sports formally denies.

The initial schedule for the weekend had originally set Strasbourg-Le Havre for Saturday, September 13, at 7:00 p.m. However, after consultation, the Ligue agreed to request beIN’s permission to allow the match against Lens.

This scheduling shuffle has raised eyebrows among fans, with some questioning the potential conflicts of interest between PSG and beIN Sports, highlighting the influence of Qatar in French football.
