Veteran Fox News Anchor Neil Cavuto Leaves Network After 28 Years
Neil Cavuto, a veteran business journalist and anchor at Fox News, has left the network after 28 years. He hosted his final show on Thursday, December 19, 2024, and announced his departure during the broadcast of his afternoon program ‘Your World,’ which he has hosted since Fox News launched in 1996.
Cavuto emphasized that he is not leaving journalism but rather leaving Fox News. He expressed gratitude to his employers and highlighted his commitment to impartial journalism, stating, ‘I got to do what I love here — report the news, not shout the news. Not call names, just call balls and strikes, following the news, hold truth to power and fairness to all. That’s it, that’s me’.
Cavuto’s tenure at Fox News was marked by his fair reporting and willingness to critique both sides, including President-elect Donald Trump. Despite occasional clashes with Trump and his supporters, Cavuto’s departure was unrelated to politics, according to network insiders.
Fox News has praised Cavuto’s career as ‘a master class in journalism’ and acknowledged his significant contributions to business news coverage. The network has yet to announce a replacement for the 4 p.m. Eastern time slot that Cavuto previously occupied.
