Veterans Day 2024, observed on Monday, November 11, will be marked with various events and observances across the United States to honor the nation’s veterans. In Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Mayor-President Sharon Weston Broome is hosting a Veterans Day Breakfast on Friday, November 8. The event, scheduled from 8:30 to 10 AM CST, will take place at the East Baton Rouge Parish Library’s Main Meeting Room. This breakfast is open to residents of East Baton Rouge Parish who have served in the armed forces or are veteran supporters, and registration is required due to limited seating.

In North Richland Hills, Texas, a Veterans Day Wall of Honor will be displayed in the city hall lobby from November 4 to 11. This display will feature flags recognizing all branches of the armed forces, serving as a tribute to those who have served.

Shenandoah National Park has also announced its plans for the 2024 Veterans Day observance. The park will continue its partnership with Project Healing Waters, a nationwide organization that supports the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disabled active military service personnel and veterans through fly fishing and other activities.

On the educational front, California State University, Northridge (CSUN) will observe Veterans Day by closing its offices and canceling classes on Monday, November 11. Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 12, and students are advised to check the university’s website for specific hours of other campus facilities.

Veterans Day, a federally recognized holiday, is an annual opportunity for the nation to reflect on and honor the service of all armed forces members who have protected the United States, particularly in times of conflict and war.
