Ryder Cup 2025 Team Usa Team Europe

FARMINGDALE, New York — The 2025 Ryder Cup is off and running as the best golfers from the United States compete against Europe on the challenging Bethpage Black Course. Team USA is eager to reclaim the trophy after losing to Team Europe 16.5 to 11.5 in 2023.

The tournament began with four foursome matches this morning, followed by four four-ball matches in the afternoon. Early results show a strong lead for Team Europe, which currently holds a 3-0 advantage over the Americans.

America’s pairing of Xander Schauffele and Patrick Cantlay is struggling against European players Robert MacIntyre and Viktor Hovland. After building a lead, Schauffele and Cantlay have found themselves just one point ahead after Hovland made a birdie putt on the 13th hole.

In the first match, Team Europe’s Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton defeated Bryson DeChambeau and Justin Thomas 4 & 3. The American duo started strong but fell apart, with Thomas missing a crucial par putt on the 15th that sealed their fate.

Meanwhile, Rory McIlroy and Tommy Fleetwood won decisively against Collin Morikawa and Harris English, wrapping up their match 5 & 4. U.S. captain Keegan Bradley faces questions regarding his pairings after the surprising losses.

As the competition continues throughout the day, the American team is in desperate need of momentum. The next matches could be pivotal in shifting the tide back in their favor.
