SharkNinja Recalls 1.8 Million Pressure Cookers Over Burn Hazard

Needham, MA — SharkNinja has recalled approximately 1.8 million Foodi OP300 Series Multi-Function Pressure Cookers due to a serious burn hazard. The recall was announced on May 1, 2025, following 106 reports of burn injuries, including over 50 instances of second- and third-degree burns.
The danger arises from a defect that permits the pressure-cooking lid to be opened while in use, allowing hot contents to spill out. SharkNinja revealed that at least 26 lawsuits have been initiated as a result of these incidents.
The recall impacts several models in the OP300 series: OP300, OP301, OP301A, OP302, OP302BRN, OP302CO, OP302HB, OP302HW, OP302HAQ, OP305, and OP305CO. All these models are black and have a 6.5-quart capacity with the word “Ninja” displayed prominently on the front.
Example model numbers, such as “OP301 I07,” are among those affected. Additionally, any OP300 series replacement pressure cooker lids sold separately are included in the recall.
Consumers are advised to immediately stop using the pressure-cooking feature and can request a free replacement lid by contacting SharkNinja. The company assures that other cooking features, like air frying, remain safe for use.
The recalled units were available for purchase from January 2019 to March 2025 for about $200 at major retailers including Walmart, Costco, Sam’s Club, Amazon, and Target, both online and in stores. Approximately 1,846,400 units were sold in the United States, with 184,240 units distributed in Canada.
SharkNinja Operating LLC, based in Needham, is responsible for the recall. The products were manufactured in China. Consumers can reach SharkNinja at 888-370-1733 Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. ET and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. ET for further information.
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has assigned recall number 25-247 to this incident.
