Excitement Builds for 2025 American Music Awards in Las Vegas

Las Vegas, NV – The American Music Awards (AMAs) will return for its 51st edition on Monday, May 26, at the prestigious Fontainebleau Las Vegas. For the first time, the show will be aired on CBS, starting at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT, kicking off a summer of music and celebration.
This year, the lineup of performers is highly anticipated, featuring artists ranging from breakout star Benson Boone to music legend Sir Rod Stewart. Stewart, 80, will be honored with a lifetime achievement award and will perform for the first time at the AMAs since 2004.
Hosting the event for the second time is global superstar Jennifer Lopez, who previously hosted in 2015. She expressed her excitement, remarking that the last time was “one of the most fun nights” of her life. “Jennifer brings incredible talent and stage presence, making her the ideal host for this celebration,” said Jay Penske, CEO of Dick Clark Productions.
The show will feature Gloria Estefan, who will perform at the AMAs for the first time in 32 years, celebrating five decades in the music industry. Additionally, Gwen Stefani will honor the 20th anniversary of her debut solo album, performing a medley of her hits.
Nominees for this year’s show have been determined through fan interactions, with Kendrick Lamar leading the pack with 10 nominations. This follows a collection of fan-based metrics, including streaming and sales data tracked by Billboard and Luminate from March 22, 2024, to March 20, 2025.
Voting has officially closed, except for two categories: Collaboration of the Year and Social Song of the Year, which will be open for public input until the first 30 minutes of the show.
The AMAs will also shine a light on veterans by partnering with the Easy Day Foundation, which aids veterans in transitioning to civilian life, incorporating several moments during the broadcast to celebrate their contributions.
The event will re-air on MTV, CMT, and BET in the days following the live broadcast, allowing fans another chance to experience the performances and moments that celebrate the year’s most influential artists.
