Jalen Hood-Schifino, the 21-year-old point guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, has been recalled from the G League‘s South Bay Lakers. This move, which occurred on Saturday, December 1, 2024, marks the latest in a series of assignments and recalls for the young player.

Hood-Schifino was drafted by the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round (17th pick) of the 2023 NBA Draft. Since then, he has been shuttled between the Lakers and their G League affiliate, the South Bay Lakers, as part of his development process. This frequent movement is aimed at providing him with valuable playing time and experience at both levels.

Standing at 6-5 and weighing 215 pounds, Hood-Schifino brings a promising combination of size and skill to the Lakers’ roster. Originally from Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, he played high school basketball at Montverde Academy in Florida before joining the Indiana University men’s basketball team for his freshman year.

With his recall, Hood-Schifino will be available to contribute off the bench for the Lakers in their upcoming games, offering a fresh injection of talent and energy to the team.
