Brad Marchand Kids Support Stanley Cup

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. — Brad Marchand‘s children wished him luck before Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final against the Edmonton Oilers. The Florida Panthers forward’s son and daughters sent a heartfelt voicemail, shared by The Players' Tribune, just before the big game on Tuesday.

In the video, Marchand’s son Sloane and daughters Rue and Sawyer expressed their pride for their dad. “No matter what happens in the game, we’re still proud of you. You’ve still got us, and we’ve got you,” Sawyer said.

Each child introduced themselves at the beginning of the video, congratulating their father on reaching the Stanley Cup Final. Rue told her dad he was the “best daddy in the whole wide world” and added, “Just know we’re all very proud of you over here.” Sloane assured Marchand of their love and support, no matter the outcome of the game.

The Stanley Cup Final began on June 4, featuring a rematch of last year’s showdown where the Panthers defeated the Oilers in seven games. The Panthers entered this final series after a strong playoff run, defeating teams like the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Toronto Maple Leafs to claim the Eastern Conference title.

In the 2025 Final, the Panthers looked to repeat their success against Edmonton, who secured their spot in the championship by defeating the Los Angeles Kings and the Vegas Golden Knights.

As for Marchand’s status, Canada’s general manager Doug Armstrong recently spoke to him about the Olympic team. Despite not being one of the first six players named to the Canadian roster, Armstrong emphasized Marchand’s impressive performance during the playoffs. “He’s playing fantastic,” Armstrong said.

Marchand, who underwent multiple surgeries last summer, acknowledged the competitive nature of the Olympic selections. “It’s the highest achievement you can have as a Canadian-born player,” he said, expressing his determination to aim for the Olympic team.

Meanwhile, in Tuesday’s Game 6, Florida looked to seize the momentum early. Reinhart opened the scoring with an impressive solo effort that delighted fans at Amerant Bank Arena, giving the Panthers a quick 1-0 lead.
