Markitos Toys and Brother ‘KC’ Reported Missing Amid Violence in Culiacán, Mexico
In a wave of violence that has gripped Culiacán, Sinaloa, Mexico, popular social media influencer Markitos Toys, whose real name is Marcos Eduardo Castro Cárdenas, and his brother Kevin Castro, known as ‘KC‘, have been reported missing. The disappearances follow a series of violent incidents in the region, including the intentional burning of two restaurants associated with Markitos Toys.
The restaurants, part of the Ranch Roll sushi chain, were attacked by armed individuals. One of the attacks occurred in the Isla Musala neighborhood, where a delivery vehicle was set on fire, and the other in the Tres Ríos development, where the establishment was shot at and then set ablaze. Markitos Toys had frequently promoted these restaurants on his social media channels.
The violence in Culiacán has been escalating, with multiple violent incidents reported on Thursday, including attacks on various businesses, a clinic, and a residence. The disappearances of Markitos Toys and his brother KC were reported on Friday, although these have not been confirmed by authorities.
Kevin Castro, who is engaged to influencer Ana Gastélum, was reportedly taken at the Culiacán airport, leading to the cancellation of flights and restricted access to the airport. Gastélum has since made her Instagram account private, fueling further speculation and rumors.
Markitos Toys is known for his charitable actions and luxurious lifestyle, often sharing videos of him giving away items to his followers and showcasing high-end cars. His popularity extends across platforms like YouTube and Instagram, and he also operates a store selling customized hats with shipments to the United States and Mexico.
