Orlando, Florida — Michael Strahan shared an emotional account of his daughter’s battle with cancer during the 20th Annual Dick Vitale Gala on Saturday night. Strahan spoke about his daughter, Isabella, and the strength she showed as she faced surgery and other challenges.

At the gala, which aims to raise funds for pediatric cancer research, Strahan called Isabella his “hero,” reflecting on the growth he witnessed in her as she confronted her diagnosis head-on. “I saw my hero, my daughter, really rise up and be more than I ever knew she was at 18, turning 19—she even had surgery on her 19th birthday,” Strahan said. “But seeing her, her sister, her friends, and our relationship—it was the joy in an otherwise miserable situation.”

Strahan took to social media to share photos from the event and express his pride in Isabella. His Instagram post included the caption, “The real superheroes are those who fight cancer, and their stories deserve to be told. @isabellastrahan, you are my superhero!! I love you, and while you’re back at college finishing up finals, I was deeply honored to be recognized—carrying your strength and spirit with me every step of the way. Proud dad moment! ♥️♥️”

Fans responded to Strahan’s heartfelt message with support and admiration. One fan commented, “Proud of you Mike, Isabella and your family and friends. You’ve all been through a lot.” Another remarked, “She fought it and will continue to live her life to the fullest. Thank you to all donors who help people fighting cancer.” Isabella Strahan was declared cancer-free last August and is now focusing on her studies at college.

As the Strahan family continues to heal, fans celebrate their resilience and the positive message of hope they share.
