Fantasy Premier League Gameweek 6

This weekend’s Fantasy Premier League (FPL) fixtures left over 1.3 million managers frustrated as the most-bought player for Gameweek 6, Luis Diaz, failed to deliver any goals or assists. Despite his earlier strong form, which included three double-figure hauls and multiple attacking returns, Diaz produced a disappointing single shot.

Adding to the frustration, sold players Mohamed Salah and Diogo Jota were able to deliver strong performances. Salah scored via a penalty and secured maximum bonus points for a total of 10 points, while Jota provided two assists, earning him seven points.

The second-most recruited player, Bryan Mbeumo, from Brentford, fared better. Mbeumo scored for his third consecutive home match, bringing his season total to five goals. His performance also elevated him to fourth position among midfielders in the 2024/25 standings.

In contrast, Gabriel Magalhaes, another popular recruit, let down over a million managers. Despite his recent good form with back-to-back goals and clean sheets, he only managed to return a solitary point in this round.

Managers hoping for returns from Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka were equally disappointed as he did not register a goal or assist. However, Saka accrued maximum bonus points, mirroring Jeremy Doku‘s previous feat, by creating eight chances, including four big ones.

Nicolas Jackson of Chelsea rewarded his over 950,000 new owners with five points after assisting Chelsea’s opening goal.

Meanwhile, injured players Joao Pedro and Alexander Isak missed Gameweek 6, leading to significant sales. Eberechi Eze retained promising underlying statistics but failed to convert his chances into goals, resulting in another frustrating week for his managers.
