Mega Millions Jackpot Reaches $900 Million with No Winner Again
NEW YORK, Nov. 7, 2025 — The Mega Millions jackpot has surged to an estimated $900 million after no winning ticket was sold in Friday night’s drawing. This amount marks the eighth-largest jackpot in the game’s history. The winning numbers drawn Friday were 16, 21, 23, 48, 70, and the gold Mega Ball 5.
This drawing is notable for being the 38th since the jackpot was last won on June 27, marking the longest streak without a winner since the game began in 2002, according to Mega Millions officials. The previous record was a 37-drawing drought in January 2021, which ended with a $1.05 billion jackpot win in Michigan.
Despite the absence of a jackpot winner, lottery officials reported an overall growth in lower-tier prizes. Nearly 11.7 million winning tickets across all prize levels were recorded, resulting in total payouts exceeding $274 million since the game’s format changed last April. In this run, 256 third-tier winning tickets worth between $20,000 and $100,000 have also been sold.
In the most recent drawing on November 4, players won a total of over $12.2 million with 606,046 winning tickets across various tiers. The odds of winning the Mega Millions jackpot remain steep, standing at 1 in 290,472,336.
Mega Millions is played in 45 states along with Washington, D.C., and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A ticket costs $5, which includes a randomly assigned multiplier that can enhance the base prize levels. The largest Mega Millions jackpot ever won was $1.6 billion on August 8, 2023.
As excitement builds for the next drawing on Tuesday, lottery enthusiasts are reminded that significant winnings are still possible with lower-tier prizes. The game shows no signs of slowing down, with hopes that someone will finally break the ongoing jackpot drought.
