The Breakfast Club Cast Reunion C2e2 Chicago

CHICAGO, Ill. — The beloved cast of the iconic 1985 film The Breakfast Club will reunite next month for the first time in 40 years at the Chicago Comic & Entertainment Expo (C2E2), set to take place from April 11 to 13. Emilio Estèvez, Anthony Michael Hall, Judd Nelson, Molly Ringwald, and Ally Sheedy will grace the stage to commemorate the film’s anniversary.

This will be the first official gathering of the main cast since the film’s release, which portrayed five high school students from varying social backgrounds stuck in Saturday detention. The film has become an enduring classic, celebrating the trials of adolescence while emblematic of the John Hughes cinematic era.

Estèvez, who played Andrew Clark, announced the reunion via Instagram, calling it a “reunion 40 years in the making,” and expressed his excitement to meet fans in Chicago. The expo has confirmed that all main cast members will participate, with each actor available for autographs and photos. Estèvez will attend all three days, while Ringwald and Sheedy will join on the last two days of the event.

The C2E2 organizers have emphasized this event as “the first and only time ever” that the entire main cast will reunite, which sets a milestone for fans of the film. Tickets for VIP and three-day admission have already sold out, indicating a high demand for this unique opportunity.

The Breakfast Club, which premiered in February 1985, is a hallmark of Gen-X culture, despite being released four decades ago. It has remained relevant across generations, capturing the essence of teenage angst and rebellion. The film continues to receive accolades and maintain its status as a cultural touchstone, generating various fan-made tributes on social media.

Sadly, the reunion will be bittersweet due to the absence of Paul Gleason, who played Principal Vernon and passed away in 2006. The legacy of The Breakfast Club, however, continues to resonate with viewers, reflecting the universal challenges faced during high school.

Fans looking to attend the expo can still purchase single-day general admission tickets for the event. Chicago, known as Hughes’ birthplace, holds significant importance in the history of his films, making this event a meaningful homecoming for the cast.
