Star forward Jeremy Cameron was the standout performer as Geelong secured a thrilling 13-point victory over Carlton at the MCG in front of a packed crowd of 87,775.

The match took an unfortunate turn for Geelong as captain Patrick Dangerfield suffered a hamstring injury early in the third quarter, but not before showcasing his explosive form.

Cameron’s remarkable five-goal effort, supported by the likes of Zach Tuohy, Ollie Henry, and the experienced Tom Hawkins, proved pivotal in the Cats’ triumph.

Geelong’s midfield brigade, including the likes of Max Holmes, Mitch Duncan, and Cam Guthrie, played a crucial role in maintaining forward momentum throughout the game.

On the other side, Carlton’s Marc Pittonet delivered a strong performance in the ruck, while the likes of Patrick Cripps and Sam Walsh fought hard in the midfield battle.

Prior to the game, Carlton had to make a late change with Orazio Fantasia being replaced by debutant Jaxon Binns due to illness.
