Food Poisoning Outbreak In Jessup Maryland

On Monday, a significant food poisoning incident occurred in Jessup, Maryland, resulting in the hospitalization of 46 individuals. The incident was reported in the 7700 block of Chesapeake Bay Court, where firefighters and paramedics from the Howard County Department of Fire and Rescue Services (HCDFRS) responded to multiple patients exhibiting symptoms of food poisoning.

The emergency response was initiated around 3:45 p.m. after reports of several people falling ill after consuming the same food. Initially, more than 20 people were being evaluated, but the number quickly rose to over 30 and eventually to 46 patients as the evening progressed.

All 46 patients were transported to multiple area hospitals, with mutual aid provided by Anne Arundel and Baltimore Counties. Fortunately, all patients were reported to be non-critical.

The exact cause of the food poisoning and the specific food consumed have not been disclosed by officials. The incident is currently under investigation.
