Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park Closes Following Tragic Death of 9-Year-Old Girl
Lake Elsinore Motorsports Park in Lake Elsinore, California, has announced its permanent closure following a tragic accident that resulted in the death of a 9-year-old girl earlier this year. The incident, which occurred in June, involved Brooke Carlton, who was described as being involved in a ‘freak accident’ at the park.
The decision to close the park was made due to a lawsuit stemming from the accident. According to a statement released by the park on Instagram, the property owner has terminated their agreement with the park management because they are also being brought into the lawsuit. However, there is some confusion regarding the lawsuit, as lawyers for the family of the deceased girl have denied that any such lawsuit exists.
Lake Elsinore MX Park was a popular motorsports facility, featuring a vet track, regular track, supercross track, and flat track. It had hosted significant events, including rounds of the AMA Pro Motocross Championship in 2012 and 2013. The closure marks another loss for the motocross community in the area known as the ‘Mecca of Motocross’.
