Matriculant Zonke Thwala Overcomes Adversity To Achieve Academic Excellence

An inspirational journey of determination and resilience has seen 18-year-old Zonke Thwala, hailing from the KwaZulu-Natal province, defy the odds to achieve outstanding matric results. Despite facing challenging circumstances at home, Thwala persevered and emerged as one of the top performers among a group of 33 matriculants recognized for their multiple distinctions. Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga honored the students at an awards ceremony held on Thursday evening.

Born and raised in Verulam, Thwala’s unwavering ambition is to pursue a degree in Bcom Accounting at the prestigious University of Pretoria.
