New Law & Order Spinoff Set In Toronto Premieres In February

Get ready, Law & Order fans! A new spinoff set in Toronto is set to premiere next month. Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent is the latest addition to the successful franchise, and it will follow an elite squad of detectives as they investigate high-profile crime and corruption in the Canadian city.

The show, made in partnership between Citytv and NBC‘s Universal Television, is comprised of 10 hour-long episodes. Fans of Rectify will be thrilled to see Aden Young taking on the role of Detective Sergeant Henry Graff, alongside Kathleen Munroe as Detective Sergeant Frankie Bateman, Karen Robinson as Inspector Vivienne Holness, and K.C. Collins as Deputy Crown Attorney Theo Forrester. Other cast members include Nicola Correia-Damude as forensic pathologist Dr. Lucy Da Silva and Araya Mengesha as tech expert Mark Yohannes.

This is not the first international entry in the Law & Order franchise. Law & Order: UK, which focused on detectives and prosecutors in the United Kingdom, ran from 2009-2014 on ITV. While some UK seasons aired in the United States on BBC America, there are no current plans for Law & Order Toronto: Criminal Intent to air in the US.

The original Law & Order: Criminal Intent, starring Vincent D’Onofrio as Detective Robert Goren and Kathryn Erbe as Detective Alexandra Eames, premiered in 2001 and ran for 10 seasons, totaling 195 episodes across NBC and USA Network.
