South African Soccer Transfer News

The South African soccer transfer window remains open as several clubs work to finalize their squads ahead of the new season. With the commencement of the league approaching, clubs are actively making significant changes to bolster their teams.

AmaZulu is among the clubs that have made noteworthy signings, acquiring Nigerian striker Etiosa Ighodaro on loan from Mamelodi Sundowns, along with seasoned centre-back Kwanda Mngonyama. Additionally, Luvuyo Phewa has joined on loan from Sundowns, strengthening the squad’s attacking options.

Cape Town City has been particularly active, welcoming eleven new arrivals to rejuvenate their side after a less-than-stellar previous season. Despite the infusion of new talent, the team still seeks a leading striker following the departure of key player Khanyisa Mayo.

Chippa United has also undergone extensive changes, with the appointment of head coach Kwanele Kopo. The club has made multiple signings, including Andile Jali and Thobani Jacobs, as they aim for a more competitive season.

Kaizer Chiefs welcome several new players such as InĂ¡cio Miguel and Gaston Sirino, as they aim to strengthen a squad that has struggled in recent seasons. Newly appointed coach Nasreddine Nabi continues to evaluate the team as they prepare for the season.

Golden Arrows have addressed their defensive concerns by signing goalkeeper Ismail Watenga and securing players like Menzi Masuku from Royal AM. The club aims to solidify its backline after last season’s challenges.

Newly promoted Magesi has also been active in the transfer market, acquiring several players, including goalkeeper Bongani Mpandle and Lebogang Mabotja from Sekhukhune United. As they aim to establish themselves in the top league, they seek to build a competitive squad.

Mamelodi Sundowns have unveiled five new signings, including winger Kobamelo Kodisang and Brazilian playmaker Arthur Sales. The team has also seen some veteran players leaving, marking a transitional period for the club.

Orlando Pirates have made significant acquisitions, bringing in standout players like Gilberto from Petro Atletico. They hope these new signings will help the club compete at a higher level, especially after parting ways with prominent players.

Richards Bay, following the acquisition of new sponsorship, aims to avoid last season’s relegation struggles with several experienced additions, including goalkeeper Ian Otieno from Zambia.

Lastly, Royal AM continues to face challenges under a transfer ban, having to manage player departures without the opportunity to strengthen their squad. The club has lost key players such as Menzi Masuku and Shaune Mogaila.
