Julian Alvarez Open to Future Moves Amid Barcelona Interest
Madrid, Spain – Julian Alvarez has addressed ongoing speculation about his future, particularly regarding a possible move to FC Barcelona. The Argentine striker, currently with Atletico Madrid, confirmed that he has not ruled out transferring to another club.
In an interview with L’Equipe on November 8, 2025, Alvarez stated, “Do I plan on playing at Barcelona or at PSG? Honestly, I don’t know. I see what people say on social media… in Spain, people speak a lot about me and Barcelona. For now, I am focused on Atlético, and we will review at the end of the season.”
Alvarez’s performance this season has drawn attention, as he has scored nine goals in 14 appearances under coach Diego Simeone. If he chooses to leave Atletico Madrid, the club is expected to demand a substantial transfer fee.
The striker also admitted that he previously had discussions with Paris Saint-Germain before joining Atletico. He explained, “When I signed for Atlético, we spoke a lot about Paris. It’s true. There were discussions between the PSG hierarchy and my agent. They showed interest in signing me, but it didn’t happen.”
Alvarez, who has quickly become a key player for Atletico since transferring from Manchester City, continues to draw interest from other top clubs, indicating that his future remains uncertain.
