Abandoned Guinea Pig 'discopig' Found At London Tube Station Sparks Outrage

A guinea pig named DiscoPig was discovered abandoned in a cage at the London Tube station in Canning Town, sparking outrage among animal lovers and welfare advocates.

The brown and white guinea pig, believed to be between six and 12 months old, was found with a heartbreaking note attached to its cage that simply read: ‘I need a new owner’.

Station staff at the Canning Town station, located in East London, made the distressing discovery in an area not covered by CCTV on February 18th.

RSPCA inspector Shahnaz Ahmad, who responded to the scene, expressed concern over the abandonment, stating that DiscoPig appeared healthy and well-cared-for despite the circumstances.

According to Ahmad, guinea pigs are social animals who thrive in companionship, making the abandonment even more distressing for the innocent creature.

The RSPCA is now urging pet owners facing challenges to seek help from local animal welfare organizations rather than resorting to such callous actions.

The abandonment of DiscoPig has ignited a discussion about responsible pet ownership and the importance of providing proper care and companionship to animals.
