AmaZulu FC President Sandile Zungu Confident of Top Four Finish
AmaZulu FC president Sandile Zungu has expressed confidence in the team’s ability to achieve a top-four finish in the league despite their current standing.
Having won five, drawn nine, and lost six out of 20 league games so far, AmaZulu FC finds themselves in the 11th spot on the log standings with 24 points.
Zungu acknowledged that while he had hoped for a better position at this stage, the team’s objective of ending in the top four, set at the beginning of the season, remains unchanged.
Teams like Orlando Pirates, SuperSport United, and Stellenbosch FC currently occupy the top four positions in the league.
Reflecting on recent games against tough opponents like Sundowns and Cape Town Spurs, Zungu highlighted the team’s resilience despite some disappointing outcomes.
He praised the team’s performance in the Nedbank Cup, where they defeated strong opposition such as Royal AM, showcasing their potential for a successful season.
Zungu emphasized his belief in the team’s capability to bounce back and secure a top-four finish, reiterating the importance of achieving their set goals.
If the top-four position proves elusive, Zungu mentioned that the team should aim for at least a top-eight finish to fulfill their ambitions in competitions like the MTN8.
Zungu expressed satisfaction with the coaching staff, players, and the team’s overall performance, instilling confidence in AmaZulu FC’s ability to make a mark in the league this season.
