FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – As inclement weather looms, the series finale between No. 2 Arkansas and Texas A&M has been rescheduled from 4 p.m. Saturday, April 19, to 2 p.m. Friday, April 18. The adjustment comes after consultations with weather experts who advised that rain is expected over the weekend.

Fans holding tickets for Saturday’s game will only be admitted for Friday’s rescheduled contest. After the first game, which is a doubleheader, attendees will need to vacate Baum-Walker Stadium and the Hog Pen before re-entering for the second game of the day, which will start approximately one hour after the first, pending its completion.

The original weekend schedule has been substantially altered due to concerns for both teams in viewing the projected weather. The series will now include two nine-inning games on Friday. Arkansas head coach Dave Van Horn expressed his appreciation for the fans’ understanding during these schedule changes.

“With unpredictable weather, we want to ensure our fans can enjoy the games without disruption,” Van Horn stated during a press briefing.

The Razorbacks will start the series against Texas A&M at home, following a series of changes that already saw one doubleheader due to weather conditions against Missouri earlier this season. The upcoming match has intensified stakes, as Texas A&M enters the series on a seven-game winning streak. Previously scheduled for Saturday, the games will now include a 7 p.m. Thursday opener on SEC Network, with two games slated for Friday.

“Being adaptable is critical in baseball, and we’ll bring the same intensity against Texas A&M as we have all year,” said Van Horn.

Fans can expect a major showdown as both teams will tackle 27 innings of baseball in about 48 hours. This new lineup poses challenges for pitching rotations. Arkansas is coming off a weekend where they faced Georgia, while Texas A&M has been enjoying a steady rhythm, having swept South Carolina at home last week.

Pitcher Gage Wood, returning from an injury, is expected to step into the rotation, assuming Gabe Gaeckle’s role. Wood’s presence may provide a much-needed boost as Arkansas recalibrates its pitching strategy under these unusual constraints.

“The rotation will be fluid, given the doubleheader nature of Friday’s events. We’ll maximize our potential as best as we can with so many innings to cover,” said Van Horn.

In preparation for the doubleheader, tickets for the Friday games are set to be sold separately. For further assistance, fans can reach out to the Razorback Ticket Center at (479) 575-5151.
