Axar Patel Duleep Trophy Performance

New Delhi: Axar Patel, the all-rounder representing India D, showcased his batting prowess in the Duleep Trophy round 1 match against India C, held at the Anantapur Stadium. With his team struggling at 34 runs for the loss of five wickets, Axar stepped onto the pitch, demonstrating his ability to perform under pressure.

The left-handed batter began cautiously, scoring just three runs from the first 25 balls. However, after the lunch break, he shifted gears and began attacking, scoring a quick fifty off 77 balls. His aggressive batting included multiple boundaries and sixes, helping to stabilize the team’s innings.

Ultimately, Axar was dismissed for a commendable 86 runs, contributing significantly to India D’s total of 164 all out in 48.3 overs. This performance was reminiscent of his previous exploits during the recent T20 World Cup final, where he made vital contributions to help his team in challenging situations.

Apart from Axar, the other batsmen of India D struggled to make an impact, with captain Shreyas Iyer scoring only nine runs. On the bowling side for India C, Vijaykumar Vyshak was particularly impressive, taking three wickets for just 19 runs. His performance, along with notable contributions from Anshul Kamboj and Himanshu Chauhan, showcased the solid bowling attack of India C in this match.
