Balmain Junior Selected in Australian Schoolboys Rugby League Team

Wests Tigers extend their congratulations to Balmain junior representative hooker, Jared Haywood, on his selection in the 2024 Australian Schoolboys rugby league team.

Haywood showcased his skills for NSW Combined Catholic Colleges in the recent ASSRL U18 Nationals Final, where they dominated NSW Combined High Schools with a resounding 40-12 victory.

Having progressed through the Wests Tigers’ Pathways system, Haywood made his mark in the SG Ball Cup with Balmain earlier this year.

Following his SG Ball Cup campaign, the 18-year-old joined the Black Cubs squad and has been training with the club’s Jersey Flegg Cup (U/21s) team, poised to make his debut at that level in the upcoming weeks.

The 2024 Australian Schoolboys team features a talented roster including players like Jack Attard, Luke Tuialii, Nikki Williams, Sam Stephenson, and others who excelled in the national competition.
