Baltimore Orioles Make Roster Changes Before Doubleheader Against Red Sox

BALTIMORE, Md. — The Baltimore Orioles announced multiple roster moves ahead of a doubleheader against the Boston Red Sox at Fenway Park on Saturday.
Veteran outfielder Ramon Laureano has been placed on the 10-day injured list with a sprained left ankle. He has been performing well, hitting .266 with an OPS of .852 in the current season.
Infielder Terrin Vavra was activated to take Laureano’s spot on the roster. Vavra hasn’t played in the Major Leagues since 2023 and recorded a .560 OPS over 27 games that season.
The most intriguing addition is pitcher Trevor Rogers, who has been selected as the 27th man for the doubleheader. Rogers could potentially start in the nightcap, given the team’s recent struggles on the mound.
Baltimore acquired Rogers from the Miami Marlins in a deal earlier this season, though he has struggled with the Orioles. He previously distinguished himself with a 2.64 ERA in 2021, but has not managed an ERA below 4.00 in any season since then.
Manager Brandon Hyde expressed confidence in Rogers, suggesting he could make a significant impact during the game.
