Cleveland Browns Preseason Performance

In a preseason filled with challenges, the Cleveland Browns are now focusing on the upcoming regular season. Despite a narrow loss of 37-33 to the Seattle Seahawks in a late-night game, this matchup marked the Browns’ best performance of the preseason.

Quarterback Huntley delivered a standout performance, completing 17 of 22 passes for 146 yards and three touchdowns. This impressive display enhances his prospects significantly from the Browns’ perspective. Should the organization opt to retain him, it reinforces his credibility as a quality backup and provides valuable depth to the roster. Alternatively, he may have increased his trade value, particularly if the Browns decide to move forward with Deshaun Watson, Jameis Winston, and Dorian Thompson-Robinson.

Wide receiver Woods also made a compelling case for his position, registering five receptions for 53 yards and two touchdowns. With Amari Cooper, Jerry Jeudy, and Elijah Moore securing the top three wide receiver spots, Woods finds himself in a competitive bid for one of the final roster spots alongside Jamari Thrash. The possibility of carrying seven receivers on the 53-man roster is now a topic of conversation, especially with Woods’ notable performance.

Furthermore, linebacker Diabate continues to demonstrate his potential as he shines in his second preseason. He recorded three tackles and one sack against the Seahawks, showcasing his value on special teams and possibly securing a spot as the fifth or sixth linebacker on the roster this year.
