Bunnings Collaborates with Bluey for Hammerbarn-Themed Transformation
Bunnings, the Australian DIY giant, has joined forces with the popular animated television series Bluey to further expand into the lifestyle market. In an exciting collaboration, six Bunnings stores across Australia are undergoing a Hammerbarn-themed transformation this month. As part of the transformation, these stores will offer free Bluey-themed kids DIY workshops on weekends and Bluey merchandise, including garden gnomes.
According to Bunnings, Bluey is a perfect fit for the DIY giant due to its storyline that revolves around a family visiting an Australian building supply store. The genesis of the collaboration can be traced back to the hit Bluey episode featuring Hammerbarn in its second season. Bunnings CEO, Ryan Baker, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership, stating that customers have been referring to Bunnings as Hammerbarn since the episode aired, and bringing the Hammerbarn experience to life in stores is a special opportunity.
The Bluey TV series resonates with Australian audiences as it captures the everyday experiences of growing up in Australia. The show highlights the quintessential Aussie experience of visiting Bunnings, also known as Hammerbarn. BBC Studios director, Kate O’Connor, emphasizes the relatability of Bluey and the love for Bunnings, where Aussies take joy in their weekend shopping trips.
The Hammerbarn experience will be available in several Bunnings stores across different states in Australia, including Keperra, Queensland; Munno Para, South Australia; Cannington, Western Australia; Glenorchy, Tasmania; Blacktown, New South Wales; and Carrum Downs, Victoria. Bunnings aims to make this immersive experience accessible to as many Bluey fans and customers as possible.
