Chicago P.d. And Fire Seasons Latest Updates

Chicago, IL – The One Chicago franchise is taking a brief hiatus, but new episodes of both Chicago P.D. and Chicago Fire will return on May 7, 2025, after a pause from airing fresh content.

This season, Chicago P.D. has been filled with intense drama as the Intelligence Unit continues to chase justice through gripping cases, including a car accident investigation leading to a potential sex trafficking ring. Actor Patrick Flueger, who plays Adam Ruzek, commented, “With all the darkness, we goof around the whole time. Everyone is so serious, but at the same time, we goof around. I don’t know how it would be survivable without humor.”

Meanwhile, the characters will explore emotional events as Kim Burgess, played by Marina Squerciati, and Adam Ruzek prepare for marriage in the midst of high-stakes investigations and personal trials.

On the Chicago Fire side, the Firehouse 51 crew is dealing with its own challenges following the departure of former chief Wallace Boden. The current chief, Dom Pascal, portrayed by Dermot Mulroney, has stepped into a commanding role amidst changes and personal plotlines brewing, with characters bonding over adoption plans. The next episode announced for Chicago Fire is titled “Cut Me Open.”

Both shows have excited viewers with engaging storylines, but this hiatus comes during a critical time, leaving fans eager for the upcoming twists in the narratives. NBC’s decision to rerun previous episodes helps audiences catch up before the broadcasts resume next week.

The One Chicago franchise maintains a strong fanbase and follows a family-like sentiment among cast and crew, as noted by creator Dick Wolf. “It’s a pretty big family,” he said, emphasizing the close-knit relationships that contribute to the success of the shows.”
