Chiefs Sign Cornerback Robert Rochell to One-Year Deal

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The Kansas City Chiefs have signed cornerback Robert Rochell to a one-year contract for the 2025 NFL season, according to a report by ESPN‘s Adam Schefter.
Rochell, 26, is a former fourth-round draft pick by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2021 NFL Draft, selected out of Central Arkansas. This signing comes after Rochell spent significant time with the Green Bay Packers, having played in 11 games during the 2024 season, where he recorded two tackles and a fumble recovery.
After being cut by the Rams prior to the 2023 season, Rochell joined the Seattle Seahawks‘ practice squad but was released soon after. He then moved to the Carolina Panthers before being picked up by the Packers. In his time with Green Bay, Rochell was elevated from the practice squad to the active roster last year.
Throughout his four-year career, Rochell has appeared in 48 games, notching a total of 25 tackles, one interception, four passes defensed, and three fumble recoveries. He is transitioning into a new role with the Chiefs, who are in need of depth at the cornerback position.
“We’re excited to bring Robert on board,” said a team official, emphasizing the player’s versatility on special teams and defense. “He possesses the skills and experience that can strengthen our secondary.”
Rochell’s move to Kansas City comes as part of the ongoing adjustments teams are making ahead of the 2025 season. As he prepares to don the Chiefs’ colors, fans and analysts alike are looking forward to seeing how he will contribute to the team’s ambitions this year.
